I love sunflowers. They are beautiful and functional, and they come in many different varieties.
Sunflowers bring birds and bees to the garden. The bees search for pollen. The birds try to steal my sunflower seeds. I let them have a few plants, but the rest were picked, brined, roasted, cooled and bagged for our snacking pleasure. I remembered to take a few photos:
It's a bit messy, but mindless enough to do while watching television in the evening. Each seed is like a little gem- a tasty, tasty gem.
