Surprise!

Overnight/this morning I came to a few realizations.
  1. That my left brain might not be as good at deciding on superhero names as my right brain.
  2. That the superhero names might become self-evident while writing the rough draft.
  3. That the book only has to be perfect after the first or second revision.
  4. That it's okay to start rolling with a "good enough" name and use the handy find/replace feature on Word once "the perfect name" appears.
Things started clicking into place rapidly once I freed myself from that desperate quest (about 6:30 this morning- cup of coffee #3).

I printed out my reference guides (character bios, cross-references, rules of the world, etc.) and assembled my binders about half an hour ago (diet coke #3).

Five minutes before I started writing this post, I double-checked my Planning Master to Do list (yes, I'm that... organized).

The planning stage is over (and I'm switching to water).

I'm ready to start the rough draft, a full day ahead of schedule.

Last song on the I-Tunes shuffle before I finished? A classic by the Beastie Boys- Sure Shot.

God, I hope so.

Here we go.
