Milk Jug Mayhem!

It is raining out (yay!) so I had to alter my plans slightly for "what to do with myself" during Mr. Autism's occupational therapy. I followed these directions and made 2 milk jug self-watering containers for starting seeds. I actually had everything I needed at home, and the only place I deviated from the directions was that I didn't heat the nail before poking it through the cap to the milk jug. It worked just fine without doing so and I always prefer to remove potential trips to the ER/burn unit/visits from the fire department from any project.

Once the Jiffy seed starting mix moistens up enough, I will sprinkle in carnations in one container, and butterfly weed in the other. If the experiment fails, at least it wasn't something I was going to eat.
