A Day's Work

I froze again today, in spite of all the fight against fear yesterday and my confidence that it would not happen again. Baking did not work, although now we do have some lovely sugar cookies in the jar, just in time for Valentine's Day. The hot shower also failed, although I sure smell pretty. I finally did discover my own personal last-ditch, panic-busting, no-fail super-secret recipe for conquering the blank page. Email me if you're curious. I'm not sure I want to publicly admit it.

End of day tally:
  • 2 kids fed/watered/bathed/educated by various means
  • 3 loads of laundry
  • 1 batch of cookies
  • 2 scenes (out of 5) written for Chapter One, totaling 1211 words (5 pages, basically)
  • 0 partridges in our magnolia tree
Tomorrow, the boys visit their grandparents across town overnight, and I gain extra special writing time at night and in the morning. By Sunday, my pie-in-the-sky goal is to have Chapters One & Two completely finished and be working on Chapter Three. I will be content to be finished with Chapter One and be working on Chapter Two and not relying on super-secret remedy (Plan D).
